Unintended backups via missing nonce validation
Published Aug 26, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
CSRF in WP Data Access 5.5.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to trigger a database backup through an administrator's forged request. The backup_page() function accepts the state-changing backup request without valid nonce verification. Exploitation requires a site administrator to interact with attacker-controlled content; the bounded effect is creation of an unintended backup.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
