Unauthorized backup creation via missing nonce validation
Published Aug 26, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
CSRF in WPBackItUp Community Edition 1.50 and earlier allows remote attackers to trigger a site backup through a forged request. The ajax_queue_manual_backup() function accepts the request without correct nonce validation and queues the manual backup action. Exploitation requires a site administrator to open an attacker-controlled link; the resulting action starts an unauthorized backup job.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
