Subscriber-level settings modification via missing capability checks
Published Nov 1, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in WP Search Analytics 1.4.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify plugin settings and chart data. The save_default_chart_settings() and render_chart_data() functions process requests without checking the caller's WordPress capabilities. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to change stored plugin settings and render chart data, with no reported confidentiality or availability impact.
