Heap buffer overflow in Unbound on affected Red Hat platforms allows local users to corrupt memory via a crafted configuration. cfg_mark_ports converts a supplied port and writes to avail[port] without first ensuring that the index is below the allocated array length. Reaching the write requires local configuration access and service execution; Red Hat reports crashes or code execution, while NLnet Labs disputes that the behavior crosses existing security controls.
