Remote code execution via unrestricted PHP upload
Published Aug 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in BerqWP 1.7.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to upload executable files without authentication. The exposed REST endpoint accepts attacker-controlled image data and a filename without file-type validation, allowing a PHP payload to be written and requested from the site root. No WordPress account or user interaction is required, and successful upload permits arbitrary PHP execution in the web server context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
