Path-filter bypass in Google Android 12, 12L, 13, 14, and 15 allows local users to escalate privileges through DocumentsUI. ExternalStorageProvider.shouldHideDocument applies a case-insensitive regular expression to a noncanonical path, allowing Unicode-equivalent names to evade checks for Android/data, Android/obb, and Android/sandbox. Exploitation requires user interaction and a local low-privileged context; successful abuse bypasses storage-directory restrictions, and Google reports limited targeted exploitation.
