CVE-2024-43082

Cross-user media disclosure via unchecked URI user ID

Published Nov 13, 2024 · Updated Nov 14, 2024

Information disclosure in Google Android 12 and 12L allows local users to read another user's media through a crafted profile-photo URI. EditUserPhotoController.onActivityResult accepted the returned picture URI without verifying that its embedded user ID matched the current user before processing it. Low-privileged local access is required, but no user interaction is required, and the consequence is limited to cross-user media disclosure.
