Authenticated command execution via jsonstatus system call
Published Aug 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 23, 2024
Command injection in DrayTek Vigor routers before 1.5.1.5_Beta allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. When action is jsonstatus, cgi-bin/mainfunction.cgi passes attacker-controlled data to system(), while an inadequate blacklist permits shell metacharacters. Exploitation requires a valid router management session and adjacent-network access; injected commands run on the Linux-based appliance.
