Service interruption via unbounded page formatting
Published Aug 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 16, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda FH1206 02.03.01.35 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted POST request. The fromSafeClientFilter function passes the unbounded page parameter to sprintf while building firewall_clientlist.asp?page=%s in a fixed-size stack buffer. The request requires network reachability to the router but no authenticated session, and the documented consequence is limited to service interruption.
