Unauthenticated service interruption via unbounded sprintf
Published Aug 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 16, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda FH1201 firmware 1.2.0.14(408) allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted POST request. The fromSafeClientFilter function formats the unbounded page parameter into the fixed-size v15 buffer with sprintf. The management endpoint must be reachable on the adjacent network; public evidence establishes denial of service but does not distinguish a crash, reboot, or hang.
