Service interruption via unbounded page formatting
Published Aug 15, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2024
Stack overflow in fromP2pListFilter in Tenda FH1201 Firmware 1.2.0.14(408) allows attackers to interrupt service via a crafted POST request. The function uses sprintf to place the unbounded page value into the fixed-size v11 stack buffer when constructing a p2p.asp URL. Reachability is through the router web interface; CISA assesses adjacent access with low privileges, while NIST assesses unauthenticated network access, and neither specifies whether denial of service is a process crash or device reboot.
