Remote code execution via modified MQTT messages
Published Jan 21, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Code injection in Ruijie RG-EW300N firmware ReyeeOS 1.300.1422 allows remote attackers to execute shell commands via MQTT messages. The mqlink.elf service processes an intercepted, attacker-modified MQTT broker message as a shell command rather than treating its content strictly as data. No authentication or user interaction is required, but exploitation depends on intercepting and modifying traffic between the router and its MQTT broker.
