Account takeover via poisoned password-reset links
Published Aug 23, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024
Host header injection in ArrowJS CMS 1.0.0 allows remote attackers to capture password-reset tokens through poisoned reset links. The forgot-password flow incorporates the untrusted HTTP Host header into emailed reset URLs, directing token-bearing requests to an attacker-controlled host. Exploitation requires a targeted user to follow the emailed link; the exposed token permits the attacker's reset of that user's password.
