Authenticated command execution via unsanitized ping parameters
Published Aug 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024
Command injection in DCME-320 7.4.12.60 allows remote authenticated users to execute system commands through the web interface. The getVar function in code/function/system/tool/ping.php concatenates the host, proto, and count parameters into cmd, then passes cmd to system without neutralizing shell metacharacters. A valid administrative session cookie is required; successful exploitation returns command output and runs with the web service's device privileges.
