Stored script execution via unsanitized CSV filename
Published Sep 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in LimeSurvey 6.5.12 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript via a crafted CSV filename. UserParser::getDataFromCSV places the attacker-controlled file extension in an error flash message without neutralizing HTML, causing the payload to persist into the rendered management page. A high-privileged user must submit the CSV and a user must load or refresh that page; execution occurs in the viewing user's browser context.
