Stored script execution via unescaped music metadata
Published Aug 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024
Stored XSS in Music Management System 1.0 allows remote attackers to run scripts in another user's browser through music metadata. The save_music action accepts title and artist values that are stored and later rendered without neutralizing executable markup. Exploitation requires a victim to view the saved music entry, exposing data and actions available to that victim's session.
