Stored XSS via unsanitized index node rendering
Published Aug 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2024
Stored XSS in the indexmenu plugin for DokuWiki 2024-01-05 allows remote attackers to execute script in a viewer's browser. The client-side tree and context-menu code inserts attacker-controlled page and node data into the DOM through HTML construction, innerHTML, and eval without sanitization. The plugin must be enabled, an attacker must be able to create or edit stored page content, and a viewer must load the affected index; script runs in that viewer's DokuWiki origin.
