Authenticated command execution via unsanitized UPnP setting
Published Aug 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 13, 2024
OS command injection in TOTOLINK X5000R 9.1.0cu.2350_b20230313 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through an UPnP request. The setUPnPCfg handler passes the unvalidated enable parameter to Uci_set_str, which formats it into a uci shell command ultimately executed by execv. Access to the router management interface and valid credentials are required; successful injection executes arbitrary commands on the appliance.
