Authenticated command execution via unvalidated syslog setting
Published Aug 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 13, 2024
OS command injection in TOTOLINK X5000R Firmware 9.1.0cu.2350_b20230313 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The setSyslogCfg handler passes the unvalidated enable parameter through Uci_set_str into a shell command formatted by snprintf and executed via execv. Valid management credentials and network access to /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi are required; successful injection runs arbitrary commands on the router.
