Authenticated command execution via unchecked UCI parameters
Published Aug 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 13, 2024
OS command injection in TOTOLINK X5000R Firmware 9.1.0cu.2350_b20230313 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The setL2tpServerCfg handler passes unvalidated port, password, encryption, and timeout values through Uci_set_str into an snprintf-built uci command that CsteSystem ultimately supplies to execv. Access requires a valid router session, after which crafted L2TP configuration values run commands with the management service's privileges.
