Authenticated command execution via unchecked DMZ parameters
Published Aug 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 14, 2024
OS command injection in TOTOLINK X5000R Firmware 9.1.0cu.2350_b20230313 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. In setDmzCfg, unchecked enable and port values reach Uci_set_str, which inserts them into a uci command executed through CsteSystem and execv. Access to the router's authenticated management interface is required, and successful exploitation runs commands with the firmware service's privileges.
