Authenticated command execution via unvalidated blacklist MAC
Published Aug 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 13, 2024
OS command injection in TOTOLINK X5000R Firmware 9.1.0cu.2350_b20230313 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The addBlacklist handler passes the unvalidated mac parameter to uci_add_List, which embeds it with snprintf in a uci command string that CsteSystem ultimately executes through execv. Access to the authenticated management interface is required, and successful injection runs attacker-supplied commands on the router.
