Karma setting changes via forged administrator request
Published Aug 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 20, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Pligg CMS 2.0.2 allows remote attackers to alter karma settings through an authenticated administrator's browser. The karma module accepts a cross-origin POST to module.php?module=karma and writes attacker-supplied scoring values without a request token. An administrator must be signed in and induced to submit the crafted form; successful exploitation changes story and comment reputation weights.
