Administrator file-backup creation via missing CSRF validation
Published Aug 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 20, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Pligg CMS 2.0.2 allows remote attackers to make an authenticated administrator create a site-file backup. The admin/admin_backup.php handler accepts a POSTed dobackup=files action without an anti-CSRF token or documented origin validation. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator's browser to submit an attacker-controlled form, and the demonstrated consequence is creation of a server-side backup archive.
