Backup deletion via tokenless administrative request
Published Aug 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 20, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Pligg CMS 2.0.2 allows remote attackers to delete stored backups through an administrator's browser. The admin/admin_backup.php handler accepts a POST request carrying the dobackup=clearall action without an anti-CSRF token and clears backups. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to load attacker-controlled content, and the demonstrated consequence is deletion of server-side backup files.
