Privilege escalation via tokenless category creation
Published Aug 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 20, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in categorie.php in Warehouse Inventory System 2.0 allows remote attackers to escalate privileges via a crafted request. The handler accepts an add_cat POST and inserts the supplied categorie-name without an anti-CSRF token or request-origin validation. A logged-in level-one administrator must be induced to submit the request; successful exploitation creates an inventory category with that administrator's authority.
