Memory corruption via unchecked SSID decoding
Published Aug 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 13, 2024
Buffer overflow in setWizardCfg in TOTOLINK A3700R 9.1.2u.5822_B20200513 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via a crafted SSID. The handler passes the POST ssid value to urldecode, which writes decoded bytes into its destination without enforcing a length bound. The published PoC supplies a session cookie; public evidence demonstrates memory corruption but not code execution.
