CVE-2024-42495

Credential disclosure via unencrypted configuration protocol

Published Sep 5, 2024 · Updated Sep 6, 2024

Missing encryption in Hughes Network Systems WL3000 Fusion Software before 2.7.0.10 allows adjacent attackers to capture configuration credentials. The device-configuration path sends credentials over an unencrypted protocol; CISA does not identify the protocol or code path. No authentication or user interaction is required, but access to adjacent network traffic is needed; captured credentials provide read-only access to network and terminal configuration data.
