CVE-2024-42489Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote code execution via unescaped macro parameters

Published Aug 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 13, 2024

Injection in XWiki SAS Pro Macros before 1.10.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary server-side code through crafted macro input. The Viewpdf, Viewppt, Viewdoc, Viewxls, and ViewFile definitions interpolate an unescaped name or att--filename parameter into executable XWiki syntax. Guest view access to CKEditor.HTMLConverter, or edit or comment rights on any page, is sufficient to run Groovy code and access or modify wiki data and the host server.
