Memory corruption via unchecked group address count
Published Sep 12, 2024 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Espressif Systems ESP-NOW 2.5.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via a group message. The espnow_recv_cb receiver trusts addrs_num when iterating addrs_list without first verifying that the payload contains every claimed address. The attack requires wireless reachability to an ESP-NOW receiver and can disclose adjacent memory or interrupt firmware operation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
