CVE-2024-42474Public exploitNetwork attack vector

NTLM hash disclosure via pre-validation path resolution

Published Aug 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 12, 2024

Path traversal in Snowflake Streamlit before 1.37.0 allows remote authenticated users to disclose the Windows service account's NTLM hash. AppStaticFileHandler.validate_absolute_path resolves and inspects a requested path before Tornado confirms that it remains under the static root. A hosted Windows app must enable static file sharing; a crafted path can expose the authentication material for the account running Streamlit.
