Unauthenticated config disclosure via unprotected REST endpoints
Published Aug 9, 2024 · Updated Aug 9, 2024
Missing authorization in openHAB WebUI's CometVisu add-on before 4.2.1 allows remote attackers to read or modify hidden configuration data. ConfigResource exposes /rest/cv/config/hidden and related configuration methods without requiring an authenticated user, returning stored entries such as service credentials. Network access to the openHAB HTTP service and an installed CometVisu add-on are sufficient; exposed secrets and settings can be read or altered.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
