CVE-2024-42447Network attack vector

Session reuse via incorrect logout version gate

Published Aug 5, 2024 · Updated Mar 19, 2025

Insufficient session expiration in Apache Airflow Providers FAB allows attackers to reuse authenticated sessions after logout. The auth manager's logout route selects POST-only handling for Airflow 2.9.3 because override.py uses an incorrect version threshold, while that UI still issues a GET request. Provider 1.2.0 is affected with every Airflow version, while 1.2.1 is affected only with Airflow 2.9.3; access to the authenticated session is required.
