Device compromise via unchecked ssidIndex bounds
Published Apr 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda W9 1.0.0.7(4456) allows remote authenticated users to compromise the device via crafted ssidIndex input. The formwrlSSIDget handler for /goform/wifiSSIDget accepts ssidIndex data without enforcing the bounds of a stack destination buffer. Low-privileged access to the network management interface is required, and successful exploitation can read or alter device data or interrupt service.
