CVE-2024-42371Network attack vector

Cross-user favourites deletion via unchecked RFC function

Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024

Missing authorization in SAP NetWeaver Application Server for ABAP allows remote authenticated users to delete another user's favourites via RFC. The unnamed RFC-enabled function module accepts a target user and deletes that user's stored workplace favourites without an authorization check. Low-privileged credentials are required; the behavior also exposes valid usernames and workplace or node information and interrupts affected users' saved navigation.
