CVE-2024-42345Network attack vector

MFA bypass via improper session invalidation

Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024

Session fixation in Siemens SINEMA Remote Connect Server before V3.2 SP2 allows remote authenticated users to bypass additional MFA. The server mishandles session creation and invalidation, allowing authenticated session state to cross the additional MFA boundary; Siemens does not identify the responsible endpoint or function. A valid low-privilege account and network access are required, and the documented consequence is unauthorized session establishment rather than code execution or data disclosure.
