CVE-2024-42331

Browser poller crash via stale Duktape heap pointer

Published Nov 27, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

Use-after-free in Zabbix Server 7.0.0 through 7.0.3 allows local users to crash a browser poller through browser-item JavaScript. browser_push_error reuses wd->browser after Duktape garbage collection frees the referenced heap object instead of verifying that it remains attached. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and a browser-item error path; the documented consequence is an availability-only process crash.
