Kernel memory corruption via cached invalid UDF bitmap

Improper validation in the Linux kernel UDF allocator allows local users to corrupt memory through a malformed filesystem bitmap. After the first allocation rejects a corrupt bitmap, udf_new_block reuses the cached buffer without recording that validation failed. A local user who can supply and write to a mounted UDF volume can induce out-of-bounds kernel reads and writes or crash the system.
