CVE-2024-42170Network attack vector

Victim session takeover via fixated URL token

Published Jan 11, 2025 · Updated Jan 13, 2025

Session fixation in HCL MyXalytics 6.3 allows remote attackers to access a victim's authenticated session through a crafted URL. Login session handling accepts the URL-supplied token without replacing it after authentication, leaving the authenticated identifier known to the attacker. Exploitation requires the victim to open the crafted URL and authenticate, after which the attacker can act with that victim's application privileges.
