Kernel memory access via mismatched queue counts

Out-of-bounds access in the Linux gve driver from 5.10 through 6.9.8 allows local users to read or corrupt kernel memory via NIC statistics. gve_get_ethtool_stats calculates statistics-array offsets without accounting for reports that omit stopped queues, so queue counts and array contents diverge. An affected Google Virtual Ethernet device and a statistics request are required; successful access can disclose kernel data, corrupt memory, or crash the host.
