System crash via freed packet length access
Published Jul 30, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux kernel rswitch driver 6.8 allows local users to crash the system through ordinary network traffic. In rswitch_tx_free(), the driver frees an skb and then reads skb->len from the same object to update interface statistics. Exploitation requires the Renesas rswitch driver and packet processing; ARP or ICMP echo traffic triggers repeated memory-safety faults and can interrupt the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
