Denial of service in GitLab 12.6 through 17.0.5, 17.1 through 17.1.3, and 17.2 through 17.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. Gitlab::Asciidoc::IncludeProcessor follows reciprocal include directives between two adoc files until the request timeout while monopolizing a server CPU. A low-privileged project user can store the two files and trigger rich rendering; the demonstrated request fails after 60 seconds while one CPU remains occupied.
