Kernel panic via reused scatter-gather pages

Improper multi-buffer handling in Linux 6.9 through 6.9.7 allows remote attackers to trigger a kernel panic with jumbo frames. The ionic_run_xdp() path unmaps and clears only the first receive page for XDP_TX or XDP_REDIRECT, leaving scatter-gather pages DMA-mapped and eligible for reuse. The host must use an ionic adapter, jumbo MTU, and an XDP fragments program returning one of those actions; the triggering frames must arrive from the same Layer 2 segment.
