CVE-2024-42001Network attack vector

Unauthenticated access via active-session request bypass

Published Aug 8, 2024 · Updated Aug 21, 2024

Improper authentication in VONETS Wi-Fi bridge firmware 3.3.23.6.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to bypass authentication. The management interface accepts a specially crafted direct request under another user's active session instead of enforcing authentication on that request. Exploitation requires another user's live session and grants access otherwise restricted by the device's authentication boundary.
