Local code execution via unsafe localization deserialization
Published May 15, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Unsafe deserialization in Progress Telerik Reporting before 18.1.24.2.514 allows local users to execute code via localization assets. The Reporting engine deserializes an untrusted replacement localization asset without preventing embedded malicious code from executing. Exploitation requires replacing at least one installed Reporting asset with a crafted custom asset and user interaction, and code runs locally.
