Improper input validation in Siemens industrial routers before 8.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via VPN settings. The VPN configuration handler fails to validate input in specific fields, but Siemens does not identify those fields or the downstream code-execution path. Administrative privileges are required, and successful exploitation grants control of the router firmware with read, write, and service-interruption consequences.
