Diagnostic traffic disclosure via world-readable capture files
Published Nov 18, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2025
Incorrect permissions in WAGO controllers and panels allow remote authenticated users to read diagnostic packet captures over SSH. The Network Capture feature writes traffic files under /var/tmp/pcap with world-readable permissions instead of limiting them to administrators. Exploitation requires low-privileged SSH access and a capture containing useful plaintext traffic; exposed HTTP or FTP sessions can reveal administrator credentials.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
