CVE-2024-41964Network attack vector

Authenticated language manipulation via missing permission checks

Published Aug 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2024

Incorrect authorization in Content Folder Kirby allows remote authenticated users to manipulate multilingual language definitions. The language create and delete paths omitted existing permission enforcement, while updates had no dedicated permission; backend methods accepted all three operations without validating the role's corresponding language permission. Exploitation requires Panel access and enabled languages or API-backed language writes; deletion can remove translations, while updates can alter URLs, variables, and fallback content.
