Unauthenticated shortcode execution via album query parameter
Published Jun 6, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Code injection in Essential Plugin Album and Image Gallery Plus Lightbox 2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute shortcodes. The aigpl_gallery_album_shortcode and aigpl_gallery_album_slider functions copy the unauthenticated album query parameter into an aigpl-gallery shortcode string and pass it to do_shortcode without validation. A public page using either album shortcode exposes the path, and installed shortcodes can disclose or alter site data within their own capabilities.
