Code execution via out-of-bounds PRT parsing
Published Aug 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 13, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Siemens NX before 2406.3000 allows attackers to execute code or crash the application through a malicious PRT file. The PRT file parser reads beyond its valid memory boundary while processing crafted file data, but Siemens has not identified the responsible function or field. Exploitation requires a user to open the file in NX; code runs in the current process, while unsuccessful exploitation can terminate the application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
